In a major development in the liquor scam case, the ACB Court has granted bail to Mithun Reddy, the fourth accused. As per the court’s conditions, he must furnish two sureties of ₹2 lakh each and sign before authorities twice a week.
Mithun Reddy had earlier sought anticipatory bail but was denied even by the Supreme Court. He was arrested in July and remained in Rajahmundry Central Jail for the past 71 days. During this period, he was interrogated in custody for two days, and a chargesheet was already filed against him.
Previously, Reddy was granted interim bail for four days to take part in the Vice President elections, after which he surrendered back in jail. With the court now approving his bail petition, he is expected to walk out of prison tomorrow.
