Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed party leaders to hold at least 60,000 meetings across AP to explain the GST reforms as part of the GST Utsav. Holding a teleconference with TDP MPs, MLAs, MLCs and village level activists on Sunday, he suggested explaining to the people that the poor and middle class people are benefiting greatly from the new GST reforms brought by the Central Government.
He directed the coalition parties to jointly organize the GST reform Utsav campaign. He said that industrial, automobile, pharma, etc. companies are benefiting from the GST reform. He explained that the prices of two-wheelers, ACs, cars and kitchen items will come down. He said that GST has also been reduced for items used by people on a daily basis and there is no GST on medicines used by patients.
Welcoming this decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he recalled that a resolution was also passed in the AP Assembly. CM Chandrababu revealed that the people are benefiting to the tune of Rs. 8,000 crores with the GST reforms. He explained that even though the income coming to AP has decreased, the people will be financially strengthened with the reforms.
CM Chandrababu suggested that TDP workers and leaders should always be close to the people. He gave guidance to explain the good and bad to the people. He said that people would not be happy if they go to the people during the election period only. He flagged that the previous Jagan government had pushed the power sector into crisis.
He deplored that the YSRCP government had burdened the people in the form of electricity charges with its inefficient policies. He emphasized that the power sector has been put in a groove in the 15 months since the coalition government came to power and many problems have been solved in AP. He said that today they have started purchasing electricity at a low price.
CM Chandrababu explained that with the steps taken by the coalition government, they have saved about Rs. 1000 crore in electricity purchases. He revealed that to that extent, the burden of Rs. 1000 crore will be reduced on the people in the coming period. He emphasized that the Super Six and Manifesto promises have been fulfilled. CM Chandrababu directed the party workers to take the responsibility of taking every program undertaken by his government to the people.
