Puri Jagannath-Vijay Sethupathi Film Title And Teaser Postponed After Karur Stampede

The much-anticipated Tollywood project by director Puri Jagannath, featuring Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi, has been temporarily delayed following the tragic stampede in Karur, Tamil Nadu. This marks the first collaboration between Puri Jagannath and Vijay Sethupathi, creating significant anticipation among fans. The pan-India film, produced under the banners of JB Motion Pictures and Puri Connects by JB Narayan Rao, Puri Jagannath, and Charmee Kaur, also stars Samyuktha Menon as the female lead, with Tabu, Radhika Apte, and Vijay Kumar in key roles. The title and teaser were originally scheduled to release today as a birthday gift from Puri Jagannath.

In a statement, Puri Jagannath expressed his condolences over the incident and announced the postponement. “Due to the unfortunate incident in Karur, Tamil Nadu, today’s title and teaser event has been postponed. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families of the deceased and stand with them during this difficult time. We will announce the new release date shortly and hope everyone understands our situation,” he said.

The Karur tragedy occurred during a large rally organized under the TVK party, founded by actor-politician Vijay, where authorities were unable to control the massive crowd, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. While fans of Vijay Sethupathi expressed disappointment over the delay, the decision has been widely acknowledged given the somber circumstances surrounding the incident.
