Golden Families survey In chaotic Manner, After CM Chadnrababu Intervention 47 percent Removed

As part of the implementation of P-4 (Public, Private, People’s Partner Shift) in the state, it has been revealed that the survey conducted in March this year in 26 districts to support the poor (golden families) through mentors was conducted in a chaotic manner. In this survey, 30,11,480 golden families were identified.

However, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who found errors in the survey, directed the officials to conduct another survey. In the second phase of the survey conducted in July, in which a total of 14,24,050 gold families were identified. Of those identified initially, about 15,87,430 or 47.30 percent of the gold families were removed from the list of poor.

In Kakinada district, 1,65,510 families were initially selected, out of which 1,51,467 were removed. In almost 14 districts, more than 50 percent of the golden families were removed from the first list, which reveals how flawed the initial survey was. In the newly conducted survey, only 20,858 additional families were identified from 26 districts.

However, the selection of golden families was found to be flawed for the second time as well, as it was not conducted at the field level. Criticism is again being raised that the unfortunate, orphans, migrant workers, and the extremely poor who have no support have still not been included in the P-4 golden family list.

Those who are eligible but do not have ration cards, and those who are not mapped in the secretariat, have not been seen in the P-4 survey.  There is criticism that the survey was conducted through OTP based on ration card and secretariat mapping for the second time, and that those recommended verbally by the ruling party leaders were given a big boost.

The government has stated in the guidelines that those who have a ration card and consume more than 200 units of electricity in cities, have a government job, income tax, GST returns, own property or own house, four-wheeler, receive rent, interest, and pensions are ineligible for selection as golden families.

It has been said that those who have their own agricultural land, electricity facility, drinking water tap, bank account, TV, fridge, AC, laptop, and a pucca house in rural areas are ineligible for selection as golden families. There is criticism that the survey was not conducted in accordance with the government guidelines for the second time.
