CM Chandrababu says AP should Become A “Healthy Andhra Pradesh”

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that Andhra Pradesh should become a “Healthy Andhra Pradesh”. Speaking in the assembly, he explained that the medical infrastructure in the state is better than the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. He said that presently 1,15,499 doctors and 70,243 nurses are serving in the state.

While the average life expectancy in our country is 70 years, he said that the main goal of the government is to increase it further with the improvement of health facilities. He expressed concern that recently, caesarean sections are increasing in the medical sector, especially 90 percent of caesareans are being done in private hospitals.  He said that it is worrying to perform operations by giving dates and setting Muhurtas.

The Chief Minister said that the government will take steps to reduce this trend and will instruct the health department as well as private hospitals to perform operations only when necessary. He announced that 78 percent of digital health records have been prepared in the state and that 100 percent digitalization will be completed soon.

He said that 41 types of health tests will be conducted for everyone and a health record will be registered. He explained that health insurance of Rs. 25 lakh is being provided to poor families and health insurance of Rs. 2.5 lakh is available to each individual.

CM Chandrababu said that problems like mental illnesses, diabetes, heart diseases, respiratory problems, kidney diseases and cancer are increasing and health awareness programs are being conducted to prevent these. He called for following the principle of “Food is medicine, kitchen is pharmacy”. He suggested reducing the use of sugar, salt and cooking oil and correcting the lifestyle.

He said that currently 104 ambulance vehicles are being increased to 900 and sent to all districts. He said that every cancer patient will be identified and treated at the right time and steps will be taken to ensure that the patients recover quickly. He said that 750 types of government services are being provided to the public through WhatsApp Governance, and steps will be taken to ensure at least 80 percent satisfaction level in all services.
