The power struggle between two BJP leaders from Jammalamadugu constituency in YSR district continues. The factional struggle between Anakapalle MP CM Ramesh and Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy has reached its peak. Development works being carried out under the Saski scheme in Gandikota have been blocked 3 times in 2 weeks.
On Monday, the followers of Jammalamadugu MLA attacked the staff of Rithvik Company belonging to MP Ramesh, which is causing a stir. The police department is struggling to tell the two leaders about this. The internal struggle between the two continued when CM Ramesh was a Rajya Sabha member and Adinarayana Reddy was a YSRCP MLA.
Even though Adinarayana Reddy joined the TDP in 2014, the friendship between the two is minimal. Although both are in the coalition government at present, there is no situation where the two leaders have met to say that they are the only ones who are on the banks of the Yamuna.
Recently, the central government has sanctioned Rs. 79 crores under the SASKY scheme to develop the Gandikota tourist area of Jammalamadugu mandal. Out of this, Rithvik Company, owned by Anakapalle BJP MP CM Ramesh, won the tender for Rs. 50 crores of work. As part of this, 2 buildings and road expansion work were undertaken in Gandikota.
MLA Adinarayana Reddy’s followers prevented these works from being done. 2 weeks ago, activists who had blocked the work twice in a row went to Gandikota in vehicles on Monday, about 50 people, and attacked the Rithvik Company staff. Their cell phones were broken. The office windows and computers were destroyed.
One or two constables were at the scene of the incident, but they were helpless and could not do anything. After the followers left after the attack, dozens of police reached the scene. The victims were called and questioned. The police are taking complaints from them and are investigating. This incident has become a topic of discussion throughout the district.
CM Ramesh’s Rithwik Company took over the subcontract for the pumped storage power project that was awarded to Adani Company in Kondapuram Mandal a year ago. In November 2024, the work on the plant, which was being built with 1000 megawatts at a cost of Rs 300 crore, was stopped by MLA Adinarayana Reddy’s followers.
The project office and sheds were pelted with stones and the Kondapuram police registered a case against several people. After this incident, CM Ramesh’s brothers were working to build a perimeter wall, park and gymnasium with MP funds to develop the village deity temple in Potladurthi, CM Ramesh’s hometown in Yerraguntla Mandal, when the villagers stopped them.
