Minister Lokesh slams About Rs 4,000 Fees Fee Reimbursement Arrears During YSRCP Regime

Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh raised the flag that he would talk about the fee reimbursement arrears of Rs. 4,000 crores during the YSRCP regime. When the YSRCP moved an adjournment resolution in the council on the fee reimbursement arrears, the chairman rejected it. However, the YSRCP insisted that a discussion should be held.

Lokesh challenged that he is ready to answer this. Responding to the adjournment resolution rejected by the council chairman, Minister Lokesh questioned why this issue was not raised for discussion in the BAC?  Referring to Rs 4,000 crore arrears during previous YSRCP government, he said during the Covid period, Rs. 644 crores were evaded.

Moreover, he said that Rs 3,000 crores were pending under RTF. Rs. 895 crores were pending under MTF. By the year 2024-25, he recalled that the present government released Rs. 1,200 crore towards arrears. He assured that the pending Rs. 1,400 crore will be released in the next three months.

He wondered how they can talk now after Rs. 4,000 crore was due during the YCP regime? When YCP council leader Botsa insisted on a discussion on this, the minister explained why this issue was not raised in the BAC? He said that he was ready for a discussion on fee reimbursement arrears and that the YCP members were misleading the house.

Lokesh alleged that the issue of fee reimbursement arrears was not raised in the BAC because it would expose their weakness. He said that he was ready for a discussion on the education sector and recalled that in the past, during the discussion on the education sector, Botsa Satyanarayana and other YCP members walked out.

During the YCP regime, he alleged that 12 lakh students were away from government schools and challenged that he is ready for discussion on this. He asked them  to come in the correct format. Botsa responded and said that abusive language should not be used in the House.

Responding to this, the Minister said that he should say what abusive language was used, and that it is not right to run away by making accusations. He clarified that he addressed Botsa as Garu. He said that he respects everyone.
