The stage is set ready for the beginning of Vijayawada Utsav, to showcase Vijayawada’s fame to the world during the Dussehra festival. Arrangements have been made to make the festival unprecedented in the history of the state. The world’s biggest festive carnival is going to be organized with 286 events. This will continue till October 2, Dussehra festival.
This will be formally inaugurated by former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh by performing puja on Monday evening. A special drone show will be organized for 11 days. From Agri Expo to Kuchipudi, Bharata Natyam, Drones Show, everything will be a feast for the eyes.
Special stalls are being set up to impress food lovers. Elaborate arrangements have been made keeping in view of promoting tourism while showing the special features of the place to the lakhs of devotees who come for the Dussehra festival.
These celebrations will be held at Punnami Ghat on the banks of Krishnamma, Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Exhibition Ground in Gollapudi, and Ghantasala Music College. Film, music, cultural and sports programs will be held. These festivals are being held with the aim of promoting Vijayawada as a tourist and cultural center.
Exhibitions were held in Bezawada 12 years ago. After that, it stopped due to various reasons. Now these festivals are being held again under the auspices of the Y Brent Vijayawada Society. Although the Vijayawada Utsav is organized in four places, the exhibition in Gollapudi is the largest. Kids, agriculture, Dwakra, tourism, and live concerts are held on a 40-acre site.
The Society for Y Brent Vijayawada has joined hands with Shreyas Media to organize the Vijayawada Utsav on a large scale. Spiritual programs will be organized at Punnami Ghat. 650 to 700 special food stalls are being set up for each region of the state.
Another impressive feature is a 70-foot Eiffel Tower. Events for movies that will be released in a few months will also be organized here. Organizers say that the Vijayawada Utsav will be similar to Mysore.
