Renowned actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has reminisced about his special bond with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the latter’s 75th birthday on September 17. Sharing a video message on his X account, Nagarjuna recalled his first meeting with Modi in Gandhinagar in 2014 and the valuable advice he received from the Prime Minister.
Nagarjuna said Modi fondly remembered how he interacted warmly with children who requested photographs, despite being surrounded by security. “My friends’ children told me that when they asked you for a photo, you warmly invited them closer and posed for it. They really liked that about you,” Modi had told him during their conversation, Nagarjuna recalled.
Referring to that interaction, Nagarjuna said Modi advised him, “Never lose the humility and compassion you possess. They are very important for any human being.” The actor said he was amazed that Modi remembered and appreciated such a small gesture.
Nagarjuna also expressed happiness that Modi had remembered his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, during the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat programme on his centenary. He praised Modi for sacrificing his personal life and many desires for the sake of the nation.
Extending his advance birthday wishes, Nagarjuna said, “Sir, I wish you good health. India needs you again. The nation needs your leadership.”
