Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has recently addressed ongoing rumors about a biopic on Team India star cricketer Virat Kohli. While expressing admiration for Kohli, Kashyap clarified that he would not take up the project even if offered, emphasizing his preference for portraying challenging subjects or the lives of ordinary individuals on screen.
Speaking about Kohli, Kashyap said, “Kohli is already a hero in the eyes of cricket fans and many others, including children who idolize him. He is an extraordinary individual, both in talent and personality. He is emotional and inspiring. In short, Kohli is remarkable.” Despite his personal admiration, Kashyap reiterated that a Kohli biopic does not align with the types of stories he wishes to tell.
Rumors about a Virat Kohli biopic have circulated for some time. Earlier reports suggested that a major Bollywood production house was planning the film, with speculations that Tollywood star Ram Charan would play the lead role. At the time, Charan expressed his excitement, stating that portraying Kohli would be a dream role and an amazing experience, highlighting the cricketer’s widespread influence and fan following.
