The factional feuds between Minister Konda Surekha and Congress MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy in the Warangal District Congress are getting worse. While MLA Nayini has expressed his anger over Konda Surekha’s appointment of two trustees in the West constituency, the minister has also reacted sharply.
She questioned whether she has the freedom to replace two trustees in the ministerial position? Minister Konda Surekha laid the foundation stone for several development works in the Warangal East constituency. On this occasion, the western MLA made sensational comments objecting to her interference in his constituency.
Stating that she has appointed the names forwarded by the party leadership, she clarified that she did not give positions to those who followed her. In this way, she refuted the allegations against her. Through this statement, she cleared the air stating that those two were not selected by her.
Refusing to respond to the MLA’s comments against her, she said that she is leaving it to the discretion of the MLA. Recently, there was a stir in Warangal East and West constituencies over the appointment of trustees of the Bhadrakali temple in Warangal city.
Nayini Rajender Reddy complained to TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud about Konda Surekha in this matter. He also criticized Konda Surekha severely. He said that Konda Surekha is acting unilaterally and if she continues like this, there will be losses to the party. He questioned how the temple governing council members can be appointed without informing the local MLA.
The MLA wondered whether he can do anything as long as he is the minister for the endowments department? He deplored that the minister is acting as if she is a boss in his constituency. He warned that he would not sit idly by if Minister Konda Surekha adopts the same method. He also warned her not to test his patience.
Meanwhile, Congress circles in the district worry over a frequent open war of words between these two leaders and fear that would weaken the party in the eyes of the people.
