In order to achieve a sustainable economy, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said to the officials that the growth targets should be reviewed from time to time and the next action plan should be prepared based on the quarterly results. He instructed them to work towards achieving the targeted growth of 17.1 percent for this financial year.
The state planning department officials explained to the Chief Minister that the growth in GSDP in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26 exceeded the national average. In a review held at the CM camp office in Undavalli, the officials presented the growth estimates for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26 to the Chief Minister.
Expressing happiness over the double-digit growth, the CM said that an analysis of “how much we have set as a target and how much we have achieved beyond that” is necessary. He said that many factors such as the vast coastline, abundant water resources and better infrastructure of the state will contribute to development.
He suggested that a special study be conducted with experts to find out the reasons why some sectors are not achieving the expected progress. The CM clarified that although the tourism sector has currently achieved 17.08 percent growth, it has the potential to achieve at least 25 percent growth.
CM Chandrababu said that the goal is to achieve international standards in terms of growth. He suggested focusing on sectors like railways, transport, hotels, communications, banking, insurance and real estate. He also ordered to record GSDP details in more depth by department, sector and constituency.
Officials said that the GSDP growth value in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26 reached Rs 3,57,894 crore. While the growth rate was 9.58 percent in the same period last year, this time it was possible to grow by 10.50 percent. While the country’s GDP growth rate is only 8.8 percent, achieving more than that has proven that Andhra Pradesh has become economically strong.
It was revealed that the growth rate in the industry sector was 11.91 percent, the services sector was 10.70 percent, the agriculture sector was 9.60 percent and the GVA was 10.76 percent. The value of animal feed production increased by 6.65 percent to Rs 46,751 crore. Fisheries-aquaculture increased by 14.52 percent to Rs 32,110 crore.
