Y.S. Sharmila Confirms Son Rajareddy’s Political Entry

Speculation over the political debut of the third generation from the Y.S. family has ended with Andhra Pradesh Congress president Y.S. Sharmila confirming that her son Y.S. Rajareddy will enter politics. She stated that he would step into state politics at the appropriate time, a development that has sparked fresh discussions across the political spectrum in Andhra Pradesh.

On Monday, Rajareddy accompanied Sharmila during her tour of Kurnool. Ahead of the visit, he sought blessings from his grandmother, Y.S. Vijayamma, at their Hyderabad residence. Later, he joined an interaction with farmers at the onion market in Kurnool, where Sharmila made the official announcement regarding his political debut.

Speculation about Rajareddy’s entry gained momentum recently when he was seen seated beside his mother during the 16th death anniversary of his grandfather, former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at YSR Ghat in Pulivendula. His active participation in the Kurnool tour, along with Sharmila’s confirmation, has now put an end to the rumors.

Rajareddy, who completed his higher education in the United States, married Priya Atluri last year. She is the granddaughter of Chutneys restaurant founder Prasad Atluri.
