The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief MinisterChandrababu Naidu has approved the Universal Health Policy in the state. This decision will ensure health insurance to all citizens in the state under the Ayushman Bharat-NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme, up to Rs. 25 lakh per family in a year.
It has been decided to implement the health policy for everyone, regardless of their financial status. Through this policy, the government will formulate an action plan to provide health insurance to 1.63 crore families in the state.
The NTR Vaidya Seva Hybrid policy will be implemented to provide free medical services in 2493 network hospitals. A total of 3257 treatments will be provided free of cost by the state government under the hybrid policy. Pre-authorization management has been created to give permission for medical treatments within just six hours.
A new policy has been approved to cover medical treatment claims up to Rs. 2.5 lakh under the scope of insurance companies. The NTR Medical Service Trust will bear the cost of Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh. The NTR Medical Service Hybrid Policy has been formulated to be applicable to 1.43 crore poor families and 20 lakh other families.
The cabinet has also taken a key decision regarding new medical colleges. The cabinet has approved the establishment of 10 new medical colleges in the state under the PPP mode. In two phases, medical colleges will be established under the PPP mode in Adoni, Madanapalle, Markapuram, Pulivendula, Penugonda, Palakollu, Amalapuram, Narsipatnam, Bapatla and Parvathipuram.
The state cabinet has given permission to issue RFP to this extent. In the second phase, it has been decided to prepare a feasibility report to establish medical colleges in the remaining six areas under PPP.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to form a cabinet sub-committee to come up with policies to prevent false posts on social media. The decision to form a sub-committee with Home Minister Anita, Nadendla Manohar, Anagani and Parthasarathi has been taken. The sub-committee will work to draft rules to bring a new law.
