A false campaign has been started that Amaravati is going to sink according to a plan, and articles have been written in social media and a wing of the mainstream media saying that Amaravati is a lake, said renowned journalist and CR Media Academy chairman Alapati Suresh Kumar.
Organizing a seminar on false campaign and freedom of expression on Amaravati under the auspices of C.Raghavachari Media Academy in Vijayawada on Thursday, Alapati Suresh called on everyone to tighten their belts and turn back the false campaign being carried out on Amaravati. He suggested that the people should be informed of the fact that Amaravati is not a submerged area. It is a developing capital.
He recalled that many people shed tears during the state bifurcation, and that the then government had announced Amaravati as a capital for the people of Andhra region, and everyone had approved it politically at that time. He said that development works worth thousands of crores of rupees had been undertaken with the cooperation of the people.
However, Suresh Kumar alleged that Amaravati was eclipsed after the change of government and that conspiracies were made to completely kill the capital. He was furious that the farmers who sacrificed for the capital were insulted, and that not only mud was thrown on Amaravati, but also conspiracies were made.
He said that they tried to do away with Amaravati with a clear plan in the name of three capitals, and in this process, they advertised that Amaravati was a flooded area. He recalled that while inside trading was being advertised, the High Court ruled that it was not the case, and the Supreme Court also upheld the High Court’s verdict.
Suresh Kumar said that people have been living in the capital area for hundreds of years. He said that they wrote that it was submerged due to the recent floods, and if you question this, they say that we do not have freedom of expression. Does distorting the truth and spreading lies with malice come under freedom of expression?, he protested.
He made it clear that no one has the right to lie and not tell the truth. They said that there is a conspiracy to prevent Amaravati from developing, which is why they are spreading lies and spreading venom against Amaravati.
