Telangana state BJP President N Ramchaner Rao has directed his party workers to join in relief works immediately in rain affected arrears in the state. The BJP chief this morning held a Tele-conference with booth level presidents, District Presidents, Office Bearers and corporators and asked them to participate in relief works and cooperate with official machinery involved in evacuating people from low lying areas.
He urged people to be vigilant due to heavy rains that lashing across Telangana in view of a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in several districts and a red alert has been issued in Medak and Kamareddy districts. The people should take precautions and avoid going out unless it is an emergency as some streams and lakes are overflowing and roads in some areas have been submerged, he said.
The central government has given assurance to help Telangana in relief and evacuation of people from low lying areas to safer places and union ministers Rajnath Singh and party’s national president J P Nadda spoke to N Ramchander Rao today. He said the central government has sent NDRF teams and kept ready helicopters to shift people to safe places in rain affected areas.
The state BJP chief said in wake of heavy rains it was the primary responsibility of BJP workers to stand by the people wherever they needed help. He asked party workers, particularly BJYM workers and party leaders to immediately participate in relief activities such as relocating people from low lying areas to safer places and distribution of food and drinking water.
Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay also spoke to Defence minister Rajnath Singh and union minister of health and family welfare J P Nadda who gave assurance of all possible help to Telangana in wake of heavy rains that lashed several parts of the state.
