CM Chandrababu slams YSRCP Does politics on The Basis of Lies

Accusing that the YSRCP does politics on the basis of lies Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu lamented that the party itself makes mistakes and pushes them on others. Holding a teleconference with ministers, public representatives and key TDP leaders, he said that we must effectively reverse this.

He said that it was the Telugu Desam Party that introduced welfare to the Telugu people. “We are providing pensions on a scale that is not given in any other state in the country. We have brought social security and old age pensions from Rs 30 to Rs 4000. The current pension of Rs 4000 given to the elderly has been increased by Rs 2875 by the TDP governments”, he said.

He recalled that the previous government did not increase the pension for the disabled by even a rupee. He made it clear that the YSRCP government has no right to speak loudly. “It was the TDP governments that increased the pensions of the disabled from Rs 500 to Rs 6000. Similarly, it was the TDP that increased it to Rs 10,000 for dialysis patients. It was the TDP government that started giving pensions to those confined to bed. It has increased it to Rs 15,000”, he added.

“We are giving it to 63 lakh beneficiaries on the 1st of every month. We are spending about Rs 35,000 crore a year on pensions,” Chandrababu said. He asked, have any previous governments given pensions at this level? Did those governments have the will to give them? Moreover, he alleged that the previous government gave pensions to many ineligible people, causing loss to the deserving.

If no deserving person is to suffer loss, he said that the ineligible should be avoided. If there are any shortcomings in the process of identifying the ineligible, if the authorities make mistakes, Chandrababu directed that the party machinery should identify them and take the responsibility of correcting them. He recalled that before the elections, the party machinery went to every house and explained the Super 6 promises.

“We kept our word by implementing the promises as promised. Similarly, the party cadre should work on pensions. As important as working for the people in politics is, it is equally important to mention the work done, he added. He appreciated that The first step in the good governance program has been successful and the party machinery has reached 1.12 crore houses explaining the good things the government is doing.
