YSRCP Demands Probe Into Agriculture Minister Achannaidu’s Corruption

Perada Tilak, the YSRCP in-charge for Tekkali constituency, has unequivocally demanded an open investigation into the rampant corruption in the agriculture department under Minister Achannaidu, insisting on a thorough inquiry led by a sitting judge. He asserted that immediate action is essential to safeguard farmers’ interests and hold the minister accountable for his actions.

Tilak highlighted how Achannaidu, through his OSD Poli Naidu, is engaging in blatant corruption in the distribution of subsidized agricultural tools to farmers. He revealed that the minister pressured the Agro GM to act as an intermediary in collecting bribes from equipment manufacturing companies, leading to the GM’s transfer to Nellore when he refused to comply.

“Achannaidu, who claims to hail from a farming family, is shamelessly exploiting subsidies meant for farmers, plunging them into deeper distress,” Tilak stated emphatically, underscoring the betrayal of the very community the minister purports to represent.

Calling on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to launch a probe and dismiss Achannaidu from the cabinet without delay, Tilak emphasized the need for transparency and justice. He contrasted the current administration’s failures with past achievements, noting that in 2018, under TDP rule, farmers affected by the Titli cyclone received no insurance support, while in 2019, YS Jaganmohan Reddy ensured subsidies reached those in need.

Tilak further criticized the inaction on critical infrastructure, such as the completed seed production center in Nandigam mandal, which remains non-operational due to the minister’s neglect in providing necessary facilities. He lambasted Achannaidu and his family for prioritizing corruption over development and farmer welfare, pointing to unresolved issues like the acute urea shortage that continues to cripple agricultural activities.

He questioned the minister’s failure to honor election promises, including elevating Tekkali to district headquarters status, and condemned some TDP leaders for blindly supporting such malpractices out of misguided loyalty. “This complicity is a disgrace and must end,” Tilak declared. Tilak demanded that the government fully bear the premium for free crop insurance to alleviate farmers’ burdens.
