Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said in a review with officials that there are indications that the state’s income will increase by 8 percent this financial year. He clearly stated that they should focus on ways to increase income and special steps should be taken to ensure that tax collection is transparent.
As tax collection is key in the revenue coming to the state, he directed it to continue monitoring through the AP Tax Information System. Stating that the services sector will play a key role in taxes, he said that special attention should be paid to this sector.
He believed that there is scope for income growth in the software, healthcare and tourism sectors. The CM ordered that petrol and diesel required for state contractors’ vehicles should be purchased locally. He deplored that they are losing income due to purchasing from other states.
Chandrababu said that the focus should be on protecting health, not on increasing excise revenue. He said that there are more health benefits with less alcohol consumption and made it clear that land registration values should be in line with the market rate. He suggested that decisions should be made based on a scientific analysis of land transactions.
The Chief Minister said that leaks should be identified through AI and data analytics and technology should be used to prevent tax evasion. He suggested that technology should be fully utilized to increase revenue and vehicle tax collection should be monitored with the help of RTC and CC cameras. He suggested that the scrap vehicle policy should be implemented as per the central guidelines.
Chandrababu said that the existing subsidies should be continued to encourage the use of EVs. He believed that this would help in environmental protection. He said that technology should be used to prevent irregularities in mining. He said that data analysis should be done based on drones and satellites and income should be tracked. He said that steps should be taken to implement auto mutation in municipalities.
The Chief Minister said that errors in records should be corrected and geo-tagging should be done. He said that Aadhaar, mobile and current data should be linked. He estimated that an income of Rs. 1500 crore is possible through red sandalwood reserves. He said that international market opportunities should be utilized and new sources of income should be discovered through bamboo products.
