Renowned director Trivikram Srinivas has lauded veteran actor-director R. Narayana Murthy for his steadfast dedication to meaningful cinema, following a screening of Murthy’s upcoming film University Paper Leak at Prasad Labs.
Trivikram described Narayana Murthy as a “one-man army” in the film industry who single-handedly drives his projects from story conception to final presentation. He emphasized that Narayana Murthy’s films carry a social purpose, giving voice to marginalized communities. “Whether one agrees or disagrees, such voices need to be heard to prevent a one-sided narrative,” Trivikram said.
On University Paper Leak, Trivikram noted that despite its nearly two-hour runtime, the film maintains a brisk pace and keeps the audience engaged with its honest storytelling. He praised Murthy’s unwavering commitment to his craft, adding, “Not everyone can live without compromising; I have compromised many times. Someone once told me, ‘He cannot be bought for a fee.’”
R. Narayana Murthy expressed his appreciation for Trivikram’s support, stating, “There are no obligations between us, but he respects me and my work. After watching the film, he urged me to ensure it reaches the audience. I thank him sincerely for that.”
University Paper Leak is scheduled for release in theaters on August 22.
