Tollywood’s versatile actor Sudheer Babu is stepping into uncharted territory with his upcoming Telugu-Hindi bilingual film, Jatadhara. This mythological horror thriller is helmed by directors Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal and is being made on a lavish scale by producers Umesh KR Bansal, Prerna Arora, Shivin Narang, and Nikhil Nanda.
The chilling teaser of the film was recently released by Rebel Star Prabhas, giving a spine-tingling preview of the mystical realm of Jatadhara. In spite of not having dialogues, the teaser impresses with its powerful visuals, spiritual imagery, and foreboding backdrop.
At the core of Jatadhara is a struggle between greed and sacrifice. In her Telugu debut, Sonakshi Sinha unleashes a never-before-seen avatar in the form of Dhanapisachini, a hellish and terrifying demon goddess who embodies greed. Her authoritative screen presence and stunning transformation provide a marked sense of fear and power to the character.
Conversely, Sudheer Babu looks every inch a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, a figure of sacrifice and unshakeable conviction. His dramatic physical transformation and strong performance ensure that they will have a lasting impact.
The teaser ends with an incredibly amazing shot of the divine entry of Lord Shiva, showcasing the subtle hint of spirituality in the film and leaving viewers on goosebumps.
Technically, Jatadhara is on point with best in class VFX, cinematic frames and a dreadful musical score to sustain the dark and mythological tone of the entire film. The aspects of production design, costumes, and overall magical feel, all tell you that this movie is genuinely meant to be experienced in theatre majestically.
Unlike hero-villain customary narratives, Jatadhara pushes the bar higher on philosophical ideas and combines mythology, horror, and spirituality barriers into a fantastic cinematic experience.
With the excitement building, Jatadhara is preparing for a pan India release, and audiences await the official announcement for the date it is set to release.
