Bhatti Vikramarka Slams Previous Government for Unfinished Projects and Rising Debt Burden

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka launched a scathing attack on the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, accusing it of leaving behind a heavy debt burden and failing to complete major irrigation projects during its decade-long rule. Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stones for multiple development works in Kollapur constituency, Vikramarka alleged that the current government is forced to pay interest on loans borrowed by the previous regime.

He criticized BRS for not completing projects initiated by Congress and questioned why no major constructions were undertaken on the Krishna River, including the Palamuru-Rangareddy project. Vikramarka reaffirmed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government is committed to finishing these long-pending works. Responding to recent statements by Andhra Pradesh ministers, he urged them not to mislead the public and accused BRS of betraying Telangana’s interests.

The Deputy CM clarified that the Banakacharla project was stalled due to official visits to Delhi by CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, and emphasized that the Polavaram project can be built without submerging 2 lakh acres of land. He assured that the state government is prepared to stand with the affected villagers and fight for their rights.
