Hombale Films’ Mahavatar Narsimha, the very first animated mythological movie in the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, has made a fantastic debut. With almost no pre-release events and little by way of marketing, the film has managed to impress people and is running strongly at the box office. Opened directly in theaters, Mahavatar Narsimha has gained people’s hearts instantly, with the first show receiving rave reviews.
The performance of the movie has been particularly robust in its Hindi form, which received a stupendous response in North India and has managed to command a significant number of screens. The Telugu version too is witnessing strong demand, with pre-bookings exceeding expectations. Even on weekdays, when theater crowds tend to be low, Mahavatar Narsimha manages to sustain a good occupancy rate. In just its opening week, the film has already earned ₹53 crore, which is a strong candidate for bigger films. With its phenomenal opening, trade analysts are estimating that the film can easily touch the ₹100 crore mark by the time it ends its theatrical run.
Hombale Films has announced seven additional films in the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, and with the success of Mahavatar Narsimha, it has firmly established the platform for the growing franchise. The film, directed by Ashwin Kumar, has not only left audiences awed by its beautiful animation but also by its captivating narrative. Created in collaboration with Kleem Productions, the movie’s cinematic feel is complemented even further by an emotive soundtrack from music directors Sam CS. With this kind of powerful start, Mahavatar Narsimha has indeed set the benchmark high for the movies to come in this world.
