While the SIT inquiry set up by the government is creating political turmoil on one hand, allegations that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself is monitoring the phones of his ministers are creating a stir on the other. With this, the ministers, MLAs and finally the chairmen of corporations in the Congress government are facing serious insecurity. According to this story, a senior minister, while resting in the bedroom of his bungalow, spoke to another minister on the phone. The conversation lasted for more than an hour.
Since both ministers were from the same district, they shared their concerns with each other. However, to their surprise, the entire conversation reached the ears of the chief minister. When one of the ministers met the Chief Minister, he was shocked after the latter referred to many parts of the conversation between the two of them.
“Why did you join hands with him (another minister)? If you have any problems, tell me, I will solve them,” the chief minister reportedly said. When the minister asked how he came to know about this conversation, he replied very clearly. “It is natural to keep an eye on who you are talking to, who you are meeting, when and where you are going,” SouthFirst reported in its story.
The two ministers changed their phones in response to this sudden development. While one minister stopped using his phone, another minister had to contact his personal secretary or gunman to contact anyone.
Another minister and key leader, even though he was not involved in the phone-tapping conversation, found out that he was being monitored at all times. He said that he was aware of police and intelligence officials following him at the Hyderabad airport while he was travelling to Delhi and other areas.
