In the wake of the clear information coming in, the Eagle Team conducted another joint operation on Friday and extensively checked every Bhogi, every passenger and every luggage on the Coromandel Express from Eluru to Vijayawada. In this case, they caught the ganja being prepared and transported in the form of chocolate.
The accused who were preparing ganja as a raw material and packing it in the form of chocolate and transporting it without raising any suspicion were arrested. The details of these were explained by Shanmuga Vadivelu, in-charge of the Vijayawada Division of the Railway Protection Force.
He said that 40 chocolates weighing 220 grams, which were being transported illegally in the form of chocolate, were seized and the accused was arrested. It was revealed that regular checks will continue in trains. Eagle Team SI Veeranjaneyulu, local police, RPF CRPF personnel participated in these checks.
