Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized that no BJP-ruled state is providing reservation to BCs anywhere, saying that Rahul Gandhi had praised the Telangana caste census as the best model in the country and that Telangana caste census was a role model for the country.
Government Whip Adi Srinivas, chairman of various corporations and party BC leaders thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence for bringing the ordinance providing 42 percent reservation to BCs in local bodies. Revanth Reddy accused the BJP of being insincere, saying that some people were criticizing them for their lack of sincerity on BC reservations.
He said that the BJP government at the Center should include BC reservations in the 9th Schedule and make it legal. He asked Union Ministers Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, MPs Laxman and R Krishnaiah to achieve this. He asked the BJP ministers from Telangana to question Prime Minister Modi, stating that if Rahul Gandhi had been in Modi’s place, he would have come to achieve reservations within 48 hours.
PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Konda Surekha, Jupali Krishna Rao, Eerapathri Anil, Women’s Commission Chairman Nerella Sarada and others participated in this program. Speaking to the BC leaders on this occasion, CM Revanth Reddy explained that the caste census was conducted in a very strict manner and the individuals themselves declared their details.
He asserted that the caste census data was 100 percent digitalized and the data was stored so that no one could challenge it in the future. He advised that the respective communities should take advantage of the benefits of BC reservation, which is a victory for the Congress party.
He said that despite many obstacles in the caste census, they were overcome and the caste census was completed in a completely transparent and accurate manner within a year.
The Chief Minister said that they have declared February 4 as Social Justice Day, discussed the caste census with all sections of the assembly and all sections, and took everyone’s opinions. He reminded that Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are saying that the entire country should conduct a caste census on the Telangana model.
Herecalled that the BJP had previously filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that they were against the caste census, and that 16 parties supported the dharna organized at Jantar Mantar to include BC reservations in the 9th schedule. He said that the Center, which succumbed to the pressure we brought, decided to conduct a caste census in the census to be held in 2026, and that the Telangana decision had affected the country.
