The AP High Court bench has ordered the Endowments Department officials to conduct a fresh inquiry into the matter of former minister and YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy encroaching on 3.88 acres of land belonging to Buggamath.
It has clarified to the officials that the files related to 1.50 acres in Survey No. 261/1 and 2.38 acres in 261/2 (total 3.88) in MR Pally area of Tirupati town should be given to Peddireddy within a week and the investigation process should be completed within a total of four weeks without any explanation.
In the wake of the request of the senior counsel representing Peddireddy, the inquiry should be conducted with another officer instead of the Math EO/Assistant Commissioner who conducted the investigation earlier. It has cancelled the orders given by the Math EO to vacate 3.88 acres.
After the latest hearing, Peddireddy was given the opportunity to appeal against the orders that had a negative impact. It ordered the authorities not to take action based on those orders for three weeks. A bench comprising Chief Justice of the High Court Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur and Justice Chimalapati Ravi issued the order to this effect.
A single judge of the High Court recently issued an order to approach the Endowment Tribunal if there is any objection to the orders given by the Math EO/Assistant Commissioner to vacate 3.88 acres of land belonging to Buggamath and remove the structures on it. Peddireddy filed an appeal before the bench challenging these orders.
Senior advocate CV Mohan Reddy argued on his behalf. He said that the Math EO had issued the orders without hearing his arguments and without providing the requested documents. He requested that they be quashed.
AG Dammalapati Srinivas presented arguments on behalf of the state government and the Math. He said that Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy had encroached on the Math lands. He said that he did not have any documents regarding the 3.88 acres.
He said that he was complicating the matter by saying that he should give the documents that are with the Math himself. He said that he was making baseless allegations against the officials. He said that he had no objection to giving the documents.
