In the backdrop of the Congress party group rivalries in Warangal district, Minister Konda Surekha, her husband Konda Murali met AP Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan on Thursday. The Konda couple gave an explanation in a 16-page letter on the allegations against them.
They said that they had explained everything to Meenakshi Natarajan and that their goal was to make Congress leader Rahul the Prime Minister. They expressed confidence that they wanted to see Revanth as CM for another 10 years and that they would win all the seats in the local body elections.
It may be recalled that a big uproar spread in the Warangal Congress after Murali indirectly criticized Kadiyam Srihari, Basavaraju Saraiah and Parakala MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy. With this, those leaders complained to the Congress Disciplinary Committee. In the backdrop of these controversies, Minister Konda Surekha and Murali met Meenakshi and made their arguments known.
After the meeting, they made it clear that they are not afraid of anyone regarding the politics going on in Warangal district. Konda Surekha asserted that she has not made any mistakes as a minister so far and that she has only responded to anyone who has spoken against her ministerial post.
Konda Murali said that he is a representative of the backward classes and he need not comment against anyone as he is having public support. If he was afraid of others, he said that he would not have 23 cases against him. He recalled that he was not even scared of POTA and TADA cases.
Even though the Warangal district disputes are currently under the jurisdiction of the disciplinary committee, he deplored that others are talking only to provoke him. Murali said that he has brought the comments made by Nayini Rajender Reddy to the attention of the party in-charge.
He said that they also discussed the mobilization of people for Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s meeting on Friday. Murali said that stones will be thrown only at those who work. He said that he lives on the BC card and feeds 500 people a day. People are coming because they trust him that he will be at the forefront to solve people’s problems.
