Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has promised to make his constituency Kuppam a model constituency in the country. He visited Kuppam on Wednesday and launched several development and welfare programs as part of the ‘Swarna Kuppam’ project. Speaking at a public meeting held later, he made it clear that the devastated state is being led back towards development.
The Chief Minister assured that Handri- Neeva water, a long-standing dream of the people of Kuppam constituency, will be provided this year itself. He said that Handri- Neeva works will be completed at a cost of Rs. 3,890 crore and irrigation water will be provided to the last ayacut in the constituency.
“Only those who develop have the right to talk about welfare. It is not right to bring in debt and do welfare,” he said. He clarified that the right economic policy is to generate income through development and spend it on welfare schemes. He explained that his government has been following this policy for the last year.
Chandrababu revealed that a total of Rs. 1292 crore worth of development works are being carried out in the constituency under the Swarna Kuppam project. He said that works worth Rs. 125 crore have already been completed. As part of this project, they will convert all the roads in the constituency into CC and BT roads, and their goal is to build pothole-free roads across the state.
He said that they have been providing good governance for a year with the blessings of the people. On this occasion, he mentioned the ‘Deepam 2.0’ scheme for women. He said that while gas connections were provided through the ‘Deepam’ scheme introduced earlier, now they are providing free gas cylinders to all eligible women through ‘Deepam 2.0’.
Chandrababu expressed happiness that cooking gas has become available in every house in the Kuppam constituency due to this. He said that he came before the people as part of good governance and that he would keep every promise made.
