After scoring three consecutive blockbusters, the duo of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu are back with one of the biggest sequels in Tollywood — Akhanda 2: Thaandavam. The film is being filmed at a brisk pace in Hyderabad, and insiders say that the film is inching closer to the final stage of filming.
In a major update, the team has announced the addition of Harshaali Malhotra, the child artist who stole hearts as Munni in Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Harshaali will be seen playing a significant role named Janani in Akhanda 2. Her look was recently unveiled through a poster, where she appears poised and elegant in a traditional half saree — creating a buzz among fans.
Director Boyapati Sreenu is on the grind to ensure that the film is finished on schedule. With enormous expectations for this sequel, the entire team is working hard to create mass entertainment that meets those expectations.
Producers Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta are producing the film under their 14 Reels Plus banner, and M Tejaswini Nandamuri is the presenter on the project. The film will premiere in theaters on September 25 for the Dussehra festival.
With Balakrishna’s intense screen presence, Boyapati’s mass-driven storytelling, and the surprise addition of Harshaali Malhotra, Akhanda 2 is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2025.
