Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu warned that those who helped the ganja batch will be taught a lesson. He said that the responsibility of eradicating ganja is not only the government’s, the opposition parties should also come forward and create awareness among the people. He said that it is not possible to get political benefits unless we create awareness and seek votes.
Chief Minister Chandrababu participated in a walkathon organized in Guntur on the occasion of Anti-Narcotics Day. Later, speaking at a conference organized with students and youth, he lamented that the previous government did not focus on curbing ganja. He was angry that instead of fighting against drugs, they attacked the TDP office.
The CM said that he is declaring war on ganja and drugs. He warned that he will trample on whoever comes in the way and leave it alone. He recalled that he had also carried out movements against drugs when he was in the opposition. The CM said that he did not respond when he expressed concern that the AP brand was being lost. He reminded that there will be no room for gang factions in the coming days, and that TDP is the party that suppressed gangs in Rayalaseema.
CM Chandrababu was angry that they were trying to survive politically by inciting religious hatred. He made it clear that religious harmony would be maintained and those who incite hatred would be suppressed. He said that those who cooperated with the ganja batch would be taught a lesson.
He called on everyone to come together to eradicate ganja. CM Chandrababu said that in 2021, 50% of the total ganja cultivation in the country was cultivated from AP and Odisha, and that it was a pity that Visakhapatnam was the center of these activities at that time. He was angry that drugs had even been sold in medical shops.
The CM said that steps were being taken to eradicate ganja with alternative crops during the coalition government. He said that an eagle eye would be kept on ganja across the state in the name of Eagle. He warned that if they do not change by now, they will not be eligible to stay in the state and that if anyone comes to the girl child, that will be their last day.
Chandrababu said that fast track courts will be set up for the trial of drug cases. He said that fast track courts will be set up in Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Guntur and Tirupati. He revealed that Narcotic Control Cells have been set up in 26 districts and Eagle Clubs have been set up in 4,786 educational institutions. He said that if a message is sent to 1972, they will take responsibility for protection.
