Preethi Mukundhan Gains Spotlight with Lead Role in Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa

Actress Preethi Mukundhan, who plays the female lead in Manchu Vishnu’s much-anticipated pan-India film Kannappa, is drawing attention from Telugu audiences following her romantic appearance in a recently released love song from the movie. Her screen presence and charm have sparked interest in her background and film journey. A native of Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, Preethi hails from a family of doctors and holds a B.Tech degree. She began modelling during her college days and appeared in several television commercials. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she is also skilled in hip-hop, western, and folk dance styles.

Preethi’s popularity rose with the viral success of her music album Muthu Mu2 on YouTube, which paved the way for film offers. She made her Tamil debut with Star, alongside Kevin, followed by her Telugu debut in Om Bheem Bush, where her performance was well-received. In Kannappa, she portrays the character of Princess Nemali—a role reportedly offered to another actress before landing with Preethi. The film marks a significant step in her career, with industry observers viewing this as a potential breakthrough moment that could expand her opportunities across languages if the film becomes a box-office success.
