Prominent Telugu film producer Dil Raju has vowed to impose a ban on individuals found using drugs within the film industry. Speaking at an awareness event organized by the Telangana government on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse, he emphasized the need for a united effort to make Telangana a drug-free state. Raju asserted that if any artist is proven to have consumed drugs, they will be permanently barred from working in Telugu cinema. Representing the Telangana FDC and the industry, he added that such strict measures are necessary to set the right example. “If such incidents happen, the industry should ensure those individuals are not given another opportunity,” he said.
Actors Ram Charan and Vijay Deverakonda also participated in the event. Ram Charan praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s initiative, recalling his school days when he took part in similar awareness campaigns. He appreciated the police for their crackdown on drug peddling near educational institutions and urged youth to fight against the menace like soldiers. Vijay Deverakonda, reflecting on his recent interaction with police officers during a shoot, highlighted how easy it is to destroy a generation through drugs. He warned that once addicted, recovery becomes extremely difficult and advised youth to stay away from peers who misuse drugs.
