Telugu star Nani is reportedly in discussions to play a significant role in actor Karthi’s upcoming Tamil film, marking a potential strong entry into Kollywood. Sources indicate that the project is set in motion, with Nani agreeing to join the cast at Karthi’s request. The film will be directed by a former assistant of acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran and is expected to go on floors in July.
Set against the coastal backdrop of Rameswaram in the 1960s, the period drama is said to feature an ensemble cast, including actors Nivin Pauly and Jayaram. Karthi, who recently completed Sardar 2 and is currently working on Kaithi 2, will begin shooting for this project next month. Touted to be Karthi’s 29th film, the production is drawing attention for its intriguing premise and star-studded cast. An official confirmation regarding Nani’s involvement is awaited.
