Pulivendula police have registered a case against three people, who are said to be followers of Kadapa YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy, in connection with the complaint of Sunil Kumar, A2 accused in the former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s uncle and former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy Murder Case.
Two days ago, Sunil Kumar complained to the police that some youths chased and tried to attack him while he was traveling in a car with his family. After investigating, the police registered a case against Pawan Kumar, Lokesh Reddy and another person. Pawan Kumar and Lokesh Reddy were identified as followers of MP Avinash Reddy.
Meanwhile, Sunil Kumar Yadav has already complained to the SP and Pulivendula police several times that his life was in danger due to the followers of MP Avinash Reddy. He is currently out on bail and staying in Pulivendula. The followers of MP Avinash Reddy created a ruckus on Saturday night following Sunil Kumar Yadav.
When he was returning from a temple with his family in Pulivendula, Sunil’s car was followed by Avinash’s followers. Then, Sunil Yadav complained that he came to the police station fearing for his life after being chased by Avinash Reddy’s PA Lokesh Reddy, YSRCP social media activist Pawan Kumar and two others in a car. He appealed to the DSP to provide him protection from Avinash’s followers.
The DSP has specially appointed a police officer to investigate the complaint filed by Sunil Yadav. However, it is learnt that YSRCP leaders have informed the police that the four accused facing charges in this case will surrender by this afternoon.
Earlier, a case was registered against social media activist Pawan Kumar at the Pulivendula police station two months ago based on a complaint filed by Sunil Yadav. Now, two cases have been registered against him.
It may be recalled that Vivekananda was murdered before the 2019 elections. Later, the main accused in this case, Sunil Yadav, was arrested by the police and afterwards in October last year, the Telangana High Court granted him conditional bail.
He alleged that other accused in the Viveka murder case threatened him in jail. He said that he was receiving threats even after he was released on bail. Sunil expressed concern that some people did not like the things he said and that he was facing threats to his life from YSRCP leaders.
