A case of SC and ST atrocity has been registered against Tollywood star hero Vijay Devarakonda in Hyderabad, Telangana. The case was registered against him on the complaint that Vijay Devarakonda made controversial comments against the tribals at the pre-release event of the movie Retro, saying that just as tribal tribes fought in the past, India and Pakistan are fighting now.
Tribal groups alleged that these comments were derogatory to the tribals and demanded action against him. Tribal groups expressed their anger and protested on a large scale and complained to the police at many places. In this context, the police registered a case of SC and ST atrocity against Vijay Devarakonda based on a complaint registered at the Raidurgam police station on Saturday.
A free release event was organized on April 26 in the backdrop of the release of the retro movie on May 1, starring Tamil star hero Suriya. Vijay Deverakonda attended the event as the chief guest. In the backdrop of the news related to the Pahalgam terror attack, he made some comments condemning the terror attack.
He said, “India has no business attacking Pakistan. The people there will get disgusted and attack their government. If the situation in that country continues like this without electricity and water, they will fight like the tribals fought 500 years ago without any sense and without any work. We should all come together as a team”.
Tribal associations, including Tribal Lawyers Association Bapunagar President Kishanraj Chauhan Kishan, have criticized the comments saying that they are insulting the culture and way of life of the tribals. They alleged that these comments are insulting the culture and way of life of the tribals.
The police registered the case after a complaint was filed against hero Vijay Deverakonda for SC/ST atrocity. Now it is interesting to see what will happen next. Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda’s film Kingdom, which was supposed to be released by now, is getting postponed. It is reported that the makers are trying to release this film in the last week of July.
