Bhatti Vikramarka says Telangana should Be A Beacon For The country In Electricity sector

Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said that Telangana State should be a beacon for the country in the electricity sector and the state government is moving forward with concrete plans for this. Announcing the DA for electricity employees  at Praja Bhavan, he said that the welfare of employees is the main objective of the state government, and as part of this, the DA has been increased by 1.944 percent for electricity employees and pensioners.

He said that as a result of the decision taken with a great heart by the state government, 71,417 employees and pensioners in the state will benefit. Bhatti Vikramarka said this increased DA will be applicable to electricity employees and pensioners as well as artisans. He said that the decision has been taken to increase the DA, which was previously 14.074%, to 16.018%.

He said that the increased DA will come into effect from January this year and the burden of Rs 11.193 crore will be on the power company every month. Bhatti Vikramarka said that electricity is indispensable for every product in the competitive world, just as air is necessary for human survival.

He said that while the peak demand was 15 thousand megawatts in March 2023, the peak demand was 17,162 megawatts in March 2025. Compared to the previous government, he said that there was an additional demand of 2000 megawatts of electricity. However, he said that the government and power employees are working hard like a family to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply.

Vikramarka said that the demand for electricity will increase sharply in the coming days. Bhatti estimated that the demand for electricity in the state will be 26,299 MW by 2029-30. He explained that a central government agency has given a report that the demand will be 33,773 MW by 2034-35.

He said that the state government will prepare estimates for electricity production in accordance with the future demand and move forward. He said that after the people’s government comes to power, the state government will bring the New Green Energy Policy-2025 and move forward with the target of producing 20,000 MW of green power by 2029-30.
