Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that he is ready to discuss the Godavari-Banakacharla Project with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. He made it clear that he don’t want disputes with anyone. Stating that the Telangana Cabinet meeting will be held on June 23rd of this month, he said after discussing in this meeting, Chandrababu will be invited for discussions.
He questioned why AP did not consult Telangana first on the Banakacharla Project? He said that their objection is to consult the Central Government. He explained that committees have been formed at the level of officials and ministers to resolve the issues in the AP Reorganization Act.
Revanth Reddy made it clear that he does not want disputes with anyone and also does not want Telangana to give up its rights for anyone. He said that former Minister Harish Rao is wrong for asking for a blanket NOC for 500 TMC in Krishna district and accused that his argument is baseless.
In 2023, he recalled to the Centre that Telangana had asked for only 405 TMC. Revanth Reddy asked Andhra Pradesh to think about their projects only after their projects in Telangana are completed and the water is fully utilized. He was furious that the previous BRS government had made a mistake in the matter of Krishna and Godavari waters.
He alleged that all rights were given to AP in the past. He said that former CM KCR had said that he would make Rayalaseema Rayalaseema and questioned whether KCR had said that it would be wrong if AP used Godavari waters? He said that water was provided to only 50,000 acres through the Kaleshwaram project.
He accused KCR and Harish Rao of giving Telangana rights over Krishna and Godavari waters to AP. CM Revanth Reddy said that the Kaleshwaram project has nothing to do with Telangana becoming a granary. He criticized Harish Rao for being impatient after losing power.
Alleging union minister Kishan Reddy is working as a liaison officer for KTR, Revanth Reddy wondered why he met the Union ministers a day before he wanted to meet jointly? He recalled that both Modi and Amit Shah accused KCR that Kaleshwaram has become like an ATM to him. Expressing surprise that MP Etala Rajender is saying that Kaleshwaram was built only after the cabinet decision, Revanth Reddy wants the Union Minister Kishan Reddy to tell what is true.
