Despite being backed by the successful duo behind Nayakan, the film failed to meet box office expectations and struggled to sustain audience interest after release.
Originally intended for an extended theatrical window, Thug Life is now expected to premiere on Netflix ahead of schedule. Industry sources indicate that the digital release is likely to happen on June 27 or July 4 in South Indian languages, while the Hindi version is anticipated to release on July 31. However, an official announcement from the streaming platform is awaited. The move comes as part of an effort to recover investments and widen audience reach through digital platforms.
