Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that DSC will be conducted every year to fill teacher posts and educational standards will be improved. He said that the goal is to achieve ‘AP Model Education’ in the next four years. He held a review meeting on the education department at his residence in Undavalli on Friday.
He said that a transparent process of transfers and promotions has also been started. He recalled that for the first time, 4,000 people have been promoted as school assistants. Lokesh revealed that a special program called Project A-(‘Akshara Andhra’) is being prepared with the aim of achieving 100 percent literacy.
The minister expressed astonishment that 81 lakh people in the age group of 15-59 in the state are illiterate. AP is at the bottom of the country in adult education and he ordered that this be taken up in mission mode. He said that this year, literacy tests were conducted for 3.95 lakh people and 3.53 lakh people passed.
Stating that Mega DSC has been successfully undertaken after seven years, he said Mega DSC-2025 exams have started to end the wait of unemployed candidates in the state. Officials have made arrangements for the exams at 154 centers from June 6 to 30.
The exam is being conducted from 9:30 am to 12 pm and from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. 137 centers in the state and 17 centers in Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha have been set up for the exam. Mega DSC exams have started peacefully across the state. 3 lakh 36 thousand 305 candidates submitted 5 lakh 77 thousand 675 applications for 16,347 teaching posts.
Some candidates applied for more than one post based on their qualifications. Most of these are SGT and School Assistant posts. The primary ‘key’ will be released after the exams are completed. A week’s time has been given for receiving objections. The first day of the mega DSC exams in the districts was peaceful.
Heavy security arrangements were made at the exam centers. The district administration has made arrangements to prevent any untoward incident anywhere. Candidates were not allowed to enter the exam center even if they were late for a minute.
