Makers of Kannappa Issue Official Statement After Crucial Footage Stolen

The makers of the much-anticipated mythological epic “Kannappa” have finally broken their silence regarding the recent theft of a crucial hard drive. Earlier today, reports surfaced online alleging that VFX footage from the film had been stolen.

Confirming the incident, 24 Frames Factory, the production house behind Kannappa, has issued an official statement clarifying that a hard drive containing a pivotal action sequence between two lead characters of Kannappa, along with critical VFX work, was stolen during transit from Hive Studios in Mumbai to the production office. Shockingly, the package was fraudulently signed by an individual named Raghu, who allegedly acted under the instructions of a woman named Charita, neither of whom are affiliated with the production.”

They also revealed that a police complaint was filed nearly a month ago, and investigators have been fully informed about the identities of those behind it. Alarming intelligence has since indicated an attempt to leak over 90 minutes of unreleased footage online to derail the release of the film. “It is no secret who orchestrated this attempt—both we and law enforcement are well aware of the forces at play. The perpetrator’s identity is known, and the motive is clear. In response, the executive producer has formally escalated the matter to cybercrime authorities to take swift and firm action,” they said.

The production team condemned these cheap acts and tactics from within the industry itself. This is not mischief—it is sabotage, and it reflects a deeply unfortunate descent into personal vendetta-driven behavior. They called for support from the public and media to refrain from engaging with any pirated content, emphasizing that justice will be pursued to the fullest extent.
