KTR Served Fresh ACB Notice In Formula E Funds Case

In a surprise development, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) issued new notices to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in the controversial Formula E race funding case, and KTR has been summoned to appear before the ACB on May 28, reviving a case that had looked to be under the radar.

This recent move comes months after KTR was initially questioned over the same issue. Despite earlier buzz suggesting further investigation, no follow-up action was taken—until now. The short two-day notice period has stirred up intense political speculation, with many questioning the timing and intent behind the sudden notice.

There was once strong chatter that KTR might face arrest in the case, and sources close to the development claim he had mentally prepared for that possibility. At the time, police presence near his residence added fuel to the fire, prompting party workers to gather in anticipation. However, the situation de-escalated quickly, and the case faded from public discourse. KTR even dismissed the issue as politically motivated and unworthy of serious attention.

At the heart of the controversy is the alleged transfer of ₹50 crore to a private firm linked to the Formula E racing event, reportedly done without required administrative clearances. The funds were released just before the elections, which raised eyebrows. While KTR has acknowledged that the funds were indeed transferred, critics argue that bypassing official approvals constitutes a legal violation.

Sources indicate that the Governor has granted approval to move forward with legal proceedings against KTR. This development gives the ACB the green light to dig deeper and potentially initiate further legal action, depending on the outcome of the upcoming hearing.

With this unexpected revival, the Formula E case has re-entered the political spotlight. As the date nears, all eyes will be on the ACB’s next steps and whether this legal move could lead to major political ripples in Telangana’s power circles.
