Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council and YSRCP senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana lamented that if former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, as the opposition leader, is challenging the Chandrababu Naidu government on behalf of the people, the Chief Minister is not even in a position to answer it.
He criticized that the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP leaders are personally criticizing YS Jagan just to cover up their incompetence in implementing the promises made by the government for a year. He demanded that the government immediately announce a calendar on the implementation of the election promises.
Botsa Satyanarayana said that a `Backstabbubg Day’ protest will be organized on June 4 to question the government’s negligent attitude. He said that Opposition Leader YS Jagan had raised several questions in the media regarding the policies being followed by the coalition government for a year, and none of the leaders from the TDP had even tried to answer them directly.
He recalled that the Jagan has directly questioned the lies told by the alliance leaders on debts, the failure to implement the promises made before the elections, the false cases against YSRCP leaders and social media activists, and the liquor scams created like fake stories.
Botsa wondered that not a single leader spoke to them with the evidence they had. Instead, he flagged that the leaders of the alliance parties were launching personal attacks with objectionable comments. He said that it has been a year since the TDP alliance government was formed, but despite this, the promises have not been implemented.
He said that after Backstabbing Day on June 4, they will intensify their movements, protests and agitation programs across the state. He explained that they are undertaking this protest because they could not keep their promises to the people. Botsa expressed concern that there is no law and order anywhere in the state.
He protested that wages for the months of April and May are not being paid to the laborers, and asked when will these arrears be paid? Botsa alleged that farmers are also not doing well under this regime.
He said that there is no remunerative price for the crops they have harvested and there are no buyers for the soaked rice. He deplored that the situation of tobacco farmers has become very bad. He said that farmers are struggling because there is no proper support price for any crop like tobacco, chilli, rice, tomato and mango.
