In a rare reverse release strategy, the Telugu film Anaganaga, which initially premiered on the OTT platform ETV Win, is now heading to theatres following positive audience reception. Directed by Sunny Sanjay, the film stars Sumanth, Kajal Choudhary, and Master Viharsh in lead roles. The film’s unexpected transition from digital to theatrical release was announced during a success meet held in Hyderabad, with actor Adivi Sesh attending as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, actor Sumanth highlighted the strength of the film’s writing, praising director Sunny and co-writer Deepti for crafting an emotionally resonant narrative. “Since Malli Raava, this is the story that moved me the most. We always had confidence in the script, and the audience response has exceeded our expectations,” Sumanth stated. He also mentioned that Adivi Sesh, after viewing the film, was deeply moved and acknowledged the film’s emotional depth.
Anaganaga is now set for a phased theatrical release, beginning with Vijayawada on May 24 and Visakhapatnam on May 25, with additional screens expected to be added in the coming weeks. The film’s journey from OTT to the big screen marks a unique milestone in regional cinema distribution.
