The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a show-cause notice to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty over alleged unauthorized constructions at his premises in Malad. The notice, dated May 10, accuses the actor of carrying out structural work without obtaining the required permissions.
According to the civic body, a ground floor and a mezzanine floor were constructed without approval. Additionally, the BMC has identified three temporary structures — each measuring approximately 10×10 feet — built with brick walls, wooden panels, glass sheets, and AC roofing, also without prior authorization.
The BMC has directed Chakraborty to remove the illegal constructions immediately. Failing to do so will invite legal action under Section 475A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, which empowers the corporation to take necessary steps against unapproved constructions.
