Minister Nara Lokesh revealed that 91 big companies are ready to invest in the state. He instructed the officials to appoint a nodal officer for each company to quickly grant the necessary permissions to the big companies that have come forward to set up their new companies in the state.
Lokesh reviewed with the top officials of the IT and Electronics departments at his residence in Undavalli and said that the government’s goal is to make Visakhapatnam a center of cutting-edge technologies and an IT hub and plans should be made for this.
Reviewing the investments and jobs of the companies interested in setting up units in the state, the minister said that so far 91 IT and electronics companies have come forward with an investment of Rs. 91,839 crores to create 1,41,407 jobs. He said that consultations should be held with the representatives of the relevant companies to set up the companies as soon as possible.
He clarified that IT and electronic jobs play a key role in the economic development of the state and the government’s goal is to create 5 lakh jobs in these sectors in the next 5 years. He directed that the incentive dues to IT companies be paid immediately. Lokesh said that video conferencing equipment should be modernized across the state and the arrangements for the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub should be expedited.
He said that all government-related civil services should be made available through WhatsApp Governance. He said that currently 317 types of services are available on the Manamitra app and that it should be expanded to 400 types of services by the end of this month. He suggested that steps be taken to reduce the time of various types of services along with the Revenue Department.
Lokesh said that each certificate should be linked with technology so that it can be verified with blockchain and QR codes. He said that arrangements should be made to ensure that details of tax arrears in municipal corporations, municipalities and panchayats are available on WhatsApp and that alert messages regarding arrears should be sent from time to time.
The Minister said that steps should be taken to provide weather information such as storms, floods and lightning in real time. Lokesh instructed the officials to make extensive arrangements for the e-Governance National Conference to be held in Visakhapatnam on June 9 and 10. Minister Lokesh directed that all types of GOs and apps related to the government should be brought onto a single platform and made available on a single website.
