Former YSRCP MLA Topudurthi Prakash Reddy appeared before the police at CK Pally PS on Monday in the former chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s helicopter stampede case. The police asked him 102 questions, but he did not directly answer the question of why another helicopter was not called when the helicopter was damaged during Jagan’s tour?
As soon as the helicopter landed, YSRCP workers rushed to the helipad and hit the helicopter, cracking its glass. During the interrogation, the police questioned Thopudurthi about why another helicopter could not be called from Bengaluru when Jagan was on a two-and-a-half-hour tour that day.
The police questioned why he could not make arrangements to leave quickly since Jagan was also on a foreign tour and why he did not consider that going by road would take extra time? Prakash Reddy, who answered most of the questions asked by the police, came out after the interrogation and started to lament the media.
He alleged that the helipad incident was a complete failure of the police and he had nothing to do with it. He said that cases were filed against them to cover up the police failure. He asked why the media is not questioning the police who are neglecting the investigation of the murder case?
CI Sridhar said that Prakash Reddy will be called again, if necessary. He said that 70 people have been included as accused in this case and the rest have to be interrogated and a charge sheet will be filed within another month.
Meanwhile, it is known that Prakash Reddy is an accused in the helicopter case during Jagan’s visit. A case has already been registered against him at the Ramagiri police station in Sri Sathya Sai district, based on the complaint of a constable who was injured in a scuffle between activists at the helicopter during Jagan’s visit.
It was concluded that Topudurthi did not follow the instructions given by the police regarding the security of former CM Jagan. The constable said in his complaint that activists rushed to the helicopter and surrounded it before Jagan got off. He also alleged that Prakash Reddy was negligent in setting up barricades around the helipad.
