Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, actress Sanjjanaa Galrani has sparked debate with her recent remarks advocating for a peaceful resolution. Taking to social media, the actress — well known to Telugu audiences — expressed concern over the consequences of war, urging for calm in the context of the ongoing “Operation Sindoor.”
“I am a true patriot, but at the same time, I am a complete peace lover. Even the hint of a small or large-scale war does not bode well for the nation’s image. It could impact India’s economy and international tourism. The loss suffered by any country involved in war is immeasurable. I sincerely hope everything settles peacefully soon. Jai Hind,” she posted.
Her comments have gone viral on social media, drawing varied responses from netizens. While several users praised her balanced perspective, others criticised the timing of her statement, citing the ongoing sensitive situation.
Sanjjanaa, who began her Telugu film career with Soggadu (2005) opposite Tarun, later gained prominence in Prabhas-starrer Bujjigadu and appeared in films such as Satyameva Jayate, Dushasana, and Sardaar Gabbar Singh. She had earlier faced allegations in a drugs case and served a brief jail term.
In her personal life, Sanjjanaa married Bengaluru-based doctor Aziz Pasha during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in 2022. Reports suggest that the actress is currently expecting her second child.
