BJP MP Etela Rajender expressed his astonishment at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s statement that he is not incurring debt and cannot spend anything, and demanded that he should resign and apologize to the people if he is not able to do so. He made it clear that he should apologize unconditionally for the promises made during the elections and that he would not be able to fulfill them.
He expressed his concern that the words being spoken by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy are making the people of Telangana bow their heads down and damaging their self-confidence. He was furious that Revanth Reddy’s words are damaging the self-confidence of the children of Telangana, who have emerged prominently on the national map, are developing Telangana, and are playing a great role in countries like the USA in the world.
He expressed his anger that Telangana has never been poor, but Telangana is immersed in poverty. Rajender recalled that during the Nizam period, Telangana had a railway system, transport system, and tanks built by the Kakatiyas like Ramappa and Laknavaram, making it the most rice-growing region in the country and a place where rice is consumed.
He recalled that in the united Andhra Pradesh state, a movement came in 1969 saying, “The funds are ours.. the money is ours.. the land is yours… the jobs are ours.. you are enjoying it.” He said that when the Telangana movement was going on, on many occasions, we used to say Telangana itself had developed in the agricultural sector, infrastructure sector, and IT sector, and that nothing was better than Telangana and Hyderabad.
He lamented that CM Revanth Reddy has bankrupted such a state today, keeping in mind one person and one party, and Rajender flagged his bankruptcy by repeatedly saying that he is exposing his bankruptcy. He strongly condemned Revanth Reddy, who is incapable of governing, has no experience, and is not serious in words and actions, and why he is trying to portray Telangana as a bankrupt state and the people of Telangana as useless.
Rajender reminded that in the last ten years, Telangana has become the number one state in the country in rice production, GSDP growth, and per capita income, and has moved forward with a budget that is higher than many states. Is it a bankrupt state when the budget was presented with Rs. 3.04 lakh crore recently by Bhatti Vikramarka?, he asked.
In total, he said that the state revenue in 2014 was Rs. 51,000 crore, but by 2025 it had reached Rs. 1,56,000 crore. If there is no eligibility to borrow, and banks do not agree to give loans, then he wondered how was the Revanth Reddy government able to incur a debt of Rs 64,457 crore?
