Chennai- Vijayawada Vande Bharat Train To Be Extended Up To Narsapur

South Central Railway is preparing to operate Vande Bharat train between Narasapur and Chennai. Work is also going on at a fast pace at Narasapuram railway station. As soon as the Railway Board gives permission, the Vande Bharat train between Narasapur and Chennai will be put on the track.

Presently, there is a Vande Bharat train operating between Chennai and Vijayawada. Now, railway authorities are proposing to extend the same upto Narasapuram. As the train stays in Vijayawada railway station for a long time, keeping this train idle there causes trouble for the other trains. To avoid this problem, initially railway authorities proposed to extend the train upto Machilipatnam.

But, Union Minister of State Srinivasa Varma, who is Narasapuram MP, persuaded the authorities to extend this train upto Narasapur. He also urged the Union Railway Minister to seek extension of this facility to his constituency. Though he wanted to extend upto his native place Bhimavaram, railway authorities expressed their inability as there are no facilities there to fill the bogies with water.

Presently, Secunderabad- Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat train has a stop in Eluru of the joint district, and if Vande Bharat also runs towards Narsapur, it would be convenient for the people. In this context, work is being done at the Narasapuram railway station, focusing on the necessary infrastructure if the Vande Bharat train continues up to Narasapur.  The pipeline work to fill the trains with water has been undertaken.

It is understood that about 70 percent of this work has been completed. Work is also being done to keep the track strong. This train, which has been lying empty in Vijayawada for many hours, will be extended until now and will return to Vijayawada from there. After all the arrangements are completed, the Vande Bharat train will run from Chennai – Vijayawada – Narsapur, Narsapur – Vijayawada – Chennai.
